Strong 4th quarter propels New Hampshire past William & Mary
DURHAM, N.H. -- Trevor Knight threw for 118 yards, ran for 95 more, and had two touchdowns as New Hampshire beat William & Mary on Saturday.
New Hampshire led just 7-6 entering the fourth quarter but added two scores within five minutes of each other to effectively ice the game.
Dalton Crossan ran it in from 1-yard out capping a 14-play, 80-yard drive for a 14-6 Wildcats lead. On the ensuing possession, Ryan Farrell intercepted William & Mary quarterback Steve Cluley, setting up a 12-yard scoring strike from Knight to Anthony Pante to make it 21-6.
The Tribe cut it to 21-12 on a 9-yard pass from Cluley to Daniel Kuzjak with 6:31 left, however New Hampshire (3-2, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) went 14-plays to run out the remaining time.
Kendell Anderson led the Tribe (2-3, 0-2) with 168 yards rushing and a TD. Cluley finished with just 61 yards passing.
