Ibitokun-Hanks rushes for 298 yards, 3 TDs; Albany wins
DURHAM, N.H. -- Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks carried it 39 times for a program-record 298 yards and three touchdowns, and Albany rallied from a 22-point deficit to beat New Hampshire 36-25 on Saturday.
Albany trailed 22-0 late in the second quarter, but Ibitokun-Hanks powered in two short touchdown runs in the third quarter to pull to 25-22. The Great Danes took their first lead with 8:32 left in the fourth after Will Brunson's 4-yard quarterback sneak.
Albany sacked Trevor Knight on a fourth-and-2 play with 4:15 remaining. Ibitokun-Hanks ran for a 26-yard gain on the Great Danes' next play and he put it out of reach with a 13-yard score.
Brunson went 12 of 20 for 146 yards and one touchdown for Albany (6-4, 3-4 Colonial Athletic Association).
Knight threw for two touchdowns and one interception for New Hampshire (6-4, 5-2).
New Hampshire took the opening kickoff and went on an eight-play, 74 yard drive, capped by Knight's 18-yard TD pass to Dalton Crossan. It was 15-0 after Knight found Rory Donovan from 8 yards out and Trevon Bryant made it 22-0 late with a 3-yard run.
