Harvard beats Brown 32-22

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Joseph Viviano III and Semar Smith ran for two touchdowns apiece as Harvard picked up its first conference win, beating Brown 32-22 on Saturday.

Viviano had 205 yards passing for the Crimson (2-0, 1-0 Ivy League). Smith ran for 89 yards on 22 carries and Jake McIntyre kicked a field goal.

In the second quarter, Viviano ran for two scores and Smith ran for a third to help Harvard build a 25-10 halftime lead.

The Bears (1-1, 0-1) got as close as 24-16 late in the third quarter on a Kyle Moreno 24-yard touchdown pass. Smith answered with another touchdown to make it 32-16 with 1:15 left in the period.

Brown scored again with 3:54 left in the fourth quarter but the two-point conversion failed and the Bears' final drive stalled, sealing the win for the Crimson.

Moreno was 31-of-49 for 302 yards passing and three touchdowns for the Bears.
