Higgins throws for 4 TDs, Louisiana Tech downs UTSA 63-35
RUSTON, La. -- Ryan Higgins passed for 293 yards and four touchdowns, Carlos Henderson accounted for three TDs and Louisiana Tech ran away from Texas San Antonio 63-35 on Saturday to win its seventh-straight game and complete its first unbeaten season at home since 2001.
Henderson returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a score and Jarred Craft returned a fourth-quarter onside kick 45 yards for a TD. Henderson also scored on a 14-yard run and he caught a 6-yard TD pass.
Higgins also connected with Alfred Smith on a 68-yard TD pass, Trent Taylor on a 5-yarder and Marlon Watts on a 50-yarder. Smith had three catches for 126 yards for the Bulldogs (8-3, 6-1 Conference USA).
Jarveon Williams scored twice on 1-yard runs and J'mar Smith scored on a 1-yard run for UTSA (5-5, 4-3). Kirk Johnson threw 4-yard TD passes to Kerry Thomas Jr. and Marquez McNair. Michael Egwuagu returned a blocked field goal try 82 yards for a TD.
