Dartmouth's defense steps up in 34-18 win over Brown
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Ryder Stone scored on offense and special teams, and the Dartmouth defense forced seven turnovers in a 34-18 win over Brown on Saturday.
Stone punched it in from 9 yards out to give Dartmouth a 14-0 lead near the end of the first quarter. After Brown answered with a 5-yard touchdown run from Seth Rosenbauer, Stone returned the ensuing kickoff 89 yards to put the Big Green in front 21-6.
Dartmouth (8-1, 5-1 Ivy League) added two scores in the third quarter to go up 34-6 before Brown scored twice in the game's final five minutes. Kyle Bramble rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Big Green defense recovered three fumbles and recorded four interceptions, two by Vernon Harris.
Brown (4-5, 2-4) was nearly as opportunistic, also getting three fumbles and three interceptions. Kyle Moreno ran for 78 yards and scored once.
