Eastern Illinois 25, Tennessee State 22 OT
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Nick Bruno kicked a 26-yard overtime field goal and Jourdan Wickliffe intercepted Ronald Butler's pass on the ensuing possession helping Eastern Illinois to a 25-22 victory over Tennessee State on Saturday.
Devin Church finished with 125 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Panthers (3-3, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference) and Jalen Whitlow had 120 yards passing with a touchdown, a 62-yard strike to Addison Bounds.
Trailing 19-14 with 10:55 left Church raced in from 25 yards out to give Eastern Illinois a 22-19 lead. Tennessee State answered back on the subsequent possession, driving 32 yards on eight plays to set up a career-long 50 yard field goal by Lane Clark which sent the game into overtime.
Butler finished with 125 yards passing and 104 yards rushing with two total TD's for the Tigers (3-3, 0-3).
