Wofford breezes by Tennessee Tech, 34-14
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Hunter Windham had a 25-yard touchdown reception and David Marvin hit both of his field goal attempts to help lead Wofford to comfortable 34-14 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
Tennessee Tech (0-2) struck first on a 1-yard touchdown run by Jared Davis capping off a 14 play, 46 yard drive. This was the first and only lead the Golden Eagles had however, as Wofford tied the score on a Lorenzo Long 3-yard TD run and then grabbed the lead for good on a Chase Nelson 1-yard plunge.
Wofford (1-1) led 17-7 at the half, dominating with 293-120 advantage in total offense with a 20:21 to 9:39 edge in time of possession.
Windham added his 25-yard scoring catch in the third quarter and Marvin kicked the second of his field goals in the fourth to push the Terriers lead past three possessions.
This was the first meeting between the two schools in 66 years.
