Wilson with 2 TDs, UMass beats Eastern Michigan 28-17
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Jamal Wilson ran for two second half touchdowns and Massachusetts beat Eastern Michigan 28-17 on Saturday to snap a five-game losing streak.
Wilson had 112 yards rushing on 16 carries. Marquis Young ran for 168 yards and a touchdown, and Blake Frohnapfel threw a 39-yard scoring strike to Tajae Sharpe for Massachusetts (2-8, 1-5 Mid-American).
Brogan Roback threw for 260 yards and two touchdown passes to lead Eastern Michigan (1-10, 0-7).
Roback threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Eddie Daugherty to pull the Eagles to 14-10 at halftime. Wilson bullied in from the 1-yard line twice, capping long scoring drives, and the Minutemen stretched their lead to 28-10 early in the fourth quarter.
Roback connected with Dustin Creel on a 4-yard scoring pass with three minutes left. On the ensuing series, Wilson ran for 20 yards on third-and-2 before the Minutemen ran out the clock.
