Delaware State Hornets @ Kent State Golden Flashes
Kent State dominates Delaware State, 45-13
KENT, Ohio -- Kent State dominated Delaware State in the Golden Flashes' home opener, 45-13, but it was overshadowed by a single point-after kick in the second quarter by April Goss Saturday night.
Goss, a four-year member of the Kent State team and a former high school soccer player, became the second female to score in a Division I game in NCAA history. Katie Hnida kicked a pair of extra points for New Mexico in 2003.
Colin Reardon was 11 of 16 passing for 142 yard and three touchdowns to lead Kent State. Trayion Durham and George Bollas had touchdown runs of 22- and 12-yards, respectively.
Delaware State was held to minus-33 total yards, but the Hornets returned two Kent State turnovers for touchdowns. William Burton returned a fumble 35 yards for a second-quarter score. Terrick Colston scooped up a Bollas fumble and raced 72-yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
