Valparaiso beats Davidson 27-13
VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Ben Lehman threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns as Valparaiso beat Davidson 27-13 on Saturday.
Lehman finished with 26-of-33 passing for the Crusaders (4-8, 2-6 Pioneer League). His favorite target was Tanner Kuramata who had 10 receptions for 122 yards. Brandon Hall ran for 83 yards on 19 carries and Jacob Newman kicked two field goals.
Grayson Bastin ran for a Crusaders score late in the first quarter and a Newman field goal in the final seconds of the first half had Valparaiso up 10-7 at the break.
Lehman found Andrew Cassara in the third quarter for a 20-yard score and again in the fourth from 8 yards to give the Crusaders a 24-13 advantage with 9:07 to play. A second Newman field goal with 3:06 left sealed the win for Valparaiso.
Taylor Mitchell threw for 222 yards for the Wildcats (1-11, 0-8).
