West, Eastern Washington swamp North Dakota 54-3
CHENEY, Wash. -- Jordan West threw for a career-high 314 yards and two touchdowns and Eastern Washington used a dominating defense to overwhelm injury-ravaged North Dakota 54-3 on Saturday.
Jordan, in his fourth start for injured All-American Vernon Adams, completed 24 of 37 passes and two touchdowns. Quincy Forte also ran for two touchdowns for the Eagles (8-2, 5-1).
North Dakota(3-6, 1-4) burned the redshirt on freshman quarterback Keaton Studsrud, who was 5 of 19 for 37 yards with three interceptions, one that Moe Roberts returned 26 yards for a touchdown. The Eagles also got a touchdown on a fumbled kickoff.
West hit Cooper Kupp, who had nine receptions for 111 yards, for 37 yards early in the second quarter and Shaq Hill for 15 3 seconds before halftime that made it 38-3.
Eastern only allowed 163 yards for its largest margin of victory ever in a league game.
