ORLANDO, Fla. -- Justin Holman threw for 291 yards and a career-high three touchdowns as the University of Central Florida rolled to a 31-7 victory over Tulsa.

UCF (6-3, 4-1) moved into a tie with Cincinnati and Memphis for first-place in the American Athletic Conference. The Knights rolled up 506 yards total offense and held the Golden Hurricanes (2-4, 2-8) to just 201 yards.

UCF led 17-7 at halftime after Holman hit J.J. Worton with a 5-yard scoring pass and Josh Reese with a 77-yard bomb. The UCF sophomore quarterback opened the second half with an 84-yard scoring drive that he finished off with a 25-yard pass to Breshad Perriman.

Dontravious Wilson, who had 17 carries for 87 yards, closed out the Knights scoring on a 1-yard plunge.

Tulsa's only score came two plays after Matt Linscott recovered a fumbled punt at the UCF 27. Keevan Lucas made a one-handed catch, while rolling on his back for an 8-yard scoring play.

Holman, who was sacked three times and spent a lot of the game dodging the Tulsa rush, completed 16 of 27 passes. He over threw open receivers on three other occasions that would have produced long touchdowns.

UCF dominated the first half everywhere, but on the special teams. Holman had 209 yards passing and William Stanback 54 yards rushing, but the Knights shot themselves in the foot with special teams mistakes.

Rodrigo Quirarte made a 27-yard field goal, but missed chip shots from 22 and 24 yards. Worton, also the team's return specialist, committed the biggest gaffe, muffing a punt that bounced right to Linscott at the Knights' 27.

Lucas got 19 yards on an end around, the longest play of the night for Tulsa, then scored on the next play with a circus-catch of Dane Evans 8-yard pass.

UCF started the game with a 13-play, 74-yard drive, but got nothing from it when Quirarte pulled a 22-yard attempt left of the post.

The Knights were right back at it on their next possession, going 53 yards in nine plays. Worton took a swing pass from Holman and dove over a Tulsa defender to land in the end zone with a 5-yard scoring pass.

The Knights needed only one play to score on their next possession. Holman dropped back and fired a perfect strike that Reese in stride for a 77-yard scoring pass that made it 17-0.
