Western Kentucky beats Texas State 38-7
SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Antonio Andrews ran 21 times for 204 yards and three touchdowns and Western Kentucky added a 38-7 win over Texas State to its bowl resume on Saturday night.
Western Kentucky (7-4, 3-3 Sun Belt) led 17-7 at the half and scored three touchdowns -- all on the ground -- in the fourth quarter. Leon Allen ran for 53 yards and a touchdown and Anthony Wales added 46 yards and another score.
The Hilltoppers outgained Texas State 473-152 in total offense. The Hilltoppers averaged 6.98 yards per carry for 321 yards while holding the Bobcats to just 16 yards rushing. Western Kentucky had no turnovers while forcing five.
Tyler Arndt had three interceptions in five pass attempts for Texas State (6-5, 2-4). Tyler Jones replaced him and finished 14 of 25 for 104 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
