Cue's 6 TDs propel SC state past Savannah St 45-9
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Richard Cue threw four touchdown passes and ran for 128 yards and two more scores as South Carolina State pulled away from Savannah State 45-9 Saturday.
The Bulldogs (6-3, 4-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 7-9 early in the second quarter, but went on to score 38 unanswered points as Cue threw a 14-yard touchdown to Caleb Davis and ran for a 32-yard score in the second quarter.
Cue continued the onslaught in the second half, throwing two touchdowns to Temarrick Hemingway and rushing for a two-yard score. He finished 15-of-25 with 163 yards and an interception. Justin Taylor had 127 yards rushing on 28 carries for the Bulldogs.
The Tigers (1-9, 0-6) led twice during the game as Marquis Smith returned a fumble 36 yards for a score to lead 6-0. They grabbed a two-point lead when John Barron hit a 22-yard field goal prior to SC State's scoring run.
