Duquesne 21, St. Francis (Pa.) 10
PITTSBURGH -- Dillon Buechel passed for 141 yards and a touchdown as Duquesne held off St. Francis in a 21-10 win Saturday night.
Duquesne (5-3, 3-1 Northeast Conference) took advantage of two key turnovers -- an interception by linebacker Sam Martello that set up a 1-yard TD run by Ryan Ho and a fumble recovery in the fourth quarter by Zach Zidian to stall a St. Francis comeback effort.
Ethan Dorsey extended the Dukes' lead with a 1-yard TD run at the opening of the second quarter. Buechel capped the win with a 10-yard TD strike to Devin Rahming.
St. Francis (3-5, 1-2) was held to 131 total yards but got a touchdown in the second quarter when defensive back Lorenzo Jerome intercepted a Buechel pass and ran it 60 yards for a score.
Lance Geesey also kicked a 20-yard field goal.
