Alabama State dominates Texas Southern 34-2
HOUSTON -- Daniel Duhart completed 19 of 29 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns as Alabama State dominated Texas Southern 34-2 on Saturday night.
Alabama State (4-2, 4-1 SWAC) rolled up 464 yards of total offense and has now rushed for at least 200 yards in every game this season, but the Hornets defense was even more dominant.
ASU came into the game leading the SWAC in rushing defense, interceptions and sacks. That trend continued, limiting Texas Southern (0-5, 0-4) to negative-38 yards rushing, forcing three TSU turnovers (one interception) and piling up sacks.
The Tigers finished with just 185 total yards and converted 2 of 16 third downs.
Duhart threw all three of his touchdown passes in the first two quarters as the Hornets took at 28-0 lead into halftime.
Isaiah Crowell led the ASU ground attack with 68 yards and one touchdown on just 14 carries.
