Tulane defeats Louisiana-Monroe 31-14
MONROE, La. -- Orleans Darkwa rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown to lead Tulane to a 31-14 victory over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday night.
The game started as a defensive battle, with the Green Wave (3-2, 1-0 Conference USA) leading 10-0 at the half. Darkwa scored on a 1-yard plunge early in the third to extend the lead to 17-0. The Tulane defense added a touchdown when Jordan Batiste sacked Kolton Browning, knocking the ball loose. Dominique Robertson scooped up the fumble, returning it 33 yards for a touchdown. Batiste also had eight tackles and one interception.
Browning, who was 12 of 27 for 134 yards passing for Louisiana-Monroe (2-3), became ULM's career passing leader with 9,051 yards. He was 12 of 27 for 134 yards against Tulane.
The Warhawks got on the board when Rashon Ceaser returned a punt 88 yards to make it 24-7 in the third quarter.
