Jacksonville St. 38, Austin Peay 23
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Washaun Ealey ran for a touchdown and caught two more as Jacksonville State rode a big second half to a 38-23, come-from-behind victory over Austin Peay Saturday.
Ealey carried the ball 13 times for 80 yards and caught four passes for 38. Both of his receiving touchdowns came in the third quarter, when the Gamecocks (6-4, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) outscored the Governors (1-9, 0-7) 21-0 to overtake the lead.
Austin Peay jumped to a 14-0 lead early as Jake Ryan connected on TD passes with Mikhail Creech and Devin Stark. Ryan threw a third TD pass in the fourth quarter -- a 9-yarder to Reco Williams -- and finished the day 40-of-61 passing for 375 yards.
Jacksonville State overcame the opening deficit with rushing scores from DaMarcus James and Ealey, but fell into a 16-14 hole just before half on a safety, setting up the comeback.
