HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Dae'Quan Scott rushed for 130 yards to surpass 2,000 for his career and James Madison held off a fourth-quarter Georgia State rally to win 28-21 Saturday.
Scott, who caught a 6-yard TD pass from Michael Birdsong and also ran for a 4-yard score, now has 2,085 yards.
The Dukes (6-2, 4-1 Colonial Athletic Association) took a 28-7 lead early in the fourth quarter after Brandon Lee blocked a punt and returned it 3 yards for a touchdown.
The Panthers (1-8, 1-5) answered with a 5-yard pass from running back Rosevelt Watson to Emmanuel Ogbuehi and a 10-yard TD from Ben McLane to Parris Lee with 6:31 left.
James Madison gave Georgia State little chance to score again, consuming 5:35 with a 12-play, 51-yard drive that ended with Cameron Starke's 41-yard missed field goal.
The Panthers did get to the Dukes' 45 before McLane was sacked for a 15-yard loss.
