News: 2 days agoHarris' workload should be larger against the Broncos on Sunday, as Quentin Johnston (chest) has been ruled out, and Ladd McConkey (foot, questionable) may not play, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.

Spin: Rookie fourth-rounder Brenen Thompson (quadriceps) also has been ruled out alongside Johnston. McConkey faces an uphill battle to play Sunday after sitting out of practice all week, and he may operate under a snap count if he's given the green light to suit up. That puts Harris -- who has seen five targets or more in three of four games this season -- in position to work in an elevated role against a Broncos defense that will be without both starting outside cornerbacks Riley Moss (ribs) and Patrick Surtain (ankle).

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Harris is a Year 2 breakout candidate after flashing in a limited role as a rookie. The 2025 second-round pick quietly played 49% of the Chargers' offensive snaps, but he spent a lot of that blocking and was limited to an 8% target share. Harris is likely to open the 2026 season behind Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, but with Keenan Allen gone, his competition for No. 3 duties is 2025 fifth-round pick KeAndre Lambert-Smith and rookie Brenen Thompson. A potential starter in new playcaller Mike McDaniel's offense, the 24-year-old Harris is an intriguing late-round sleeper.
