News: 8 hours agoWright (quadriceps) left Sunday's game against the Jets and did not return to the contest.
Spin: Wright exited Miami's victory late in the fourth quarter with a quad injury. Wright filled a clear complementary role behind Ollie Gordon, and the former's health will be worth monitoring during Week 8 prep ahead of a home matchup against the Patriots next Sunday.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Wright will once again compete with second-year Ollie Gordon II for backup reps behind feature back De'Von Achane. Wright has barely cleared 70 touches during each of his first two NFL seasons, but he has shined at times, including a 24-107-1 rushing line in Week 14 last season. The 2024 fourth-round pick has been effective as a rusher, but hasn't been involved in the passing game (15 targets in 25 games). The 23-year-old would be worth adding only in the event of an Achane injury and even then, it's possible he would split (or be on the short end of a committee) with Gordon in a rebuilding offense that may not score very often.
