News: 1 day agoPerine rushed four times for 16 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-13 win over the Ravens.
Spin: The running back wasn't targeted in the passing game, but Perine notably subbed in for Chase Brown at the goal line to punch in a one-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. It's become apparent that the coaches are trusting Perine more, and it's having an effect on Brown's production. Perine is up to 31 carries for 126 yards (4.1 YPC) and one touchdown through six games this season.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Perine is expected to resume his role as Chase Brown's primary backup in Cincinnati. The veteran back played 31% of the Bengals' snaps last season, totaling 84 carries and 21 targets. He cleared 400 total yards for the fifth consecutive season, though he has yet to reach 200 touches in a single season in his career, nor has he produced a top-30 fantasy campaign. The 30-year-old has reached double-digit fantasy points three times over the last two seasons and would require a Brown injury in order to flirt with flex appeal. He can be left on waivers.
