Oregon Ducks vs Texas Longhorns

Rodriguez's late double sends Texas past Oregon to MCWS
Adrian Rodriguez delivered a go-ahead, two-run double in the top of the eighth inning as Texas punched its ticket to the Men's College World Series with a dramatic 6-5 victory over Oregon in an NCAA super regional game Sunday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin.
The Longhorns jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on back-to-back home runs by leadoff hitter Aiden Robbins and catcher Carson Tinney. Texas pushed the lead to 4-0 in the second inning on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Tinney, who finished the day 3-for-4 with two RBIs. After Rodriguez's hit in the eighth gave Texas the lead for good, closer Sam Cozart retired all six batters he faced over two perfect innings, striking out four.
Oregon refused to go quietly, erasing the four-run deficit to take the lead in the late innings. The comeback started in the second with an RBI single from Naulivou Lauaki Jr. and continued in the third with an RBI double by Drew Smith and an RBI single from Brayden Jaksa. The Ducks tied the game 4-4 in the fifth and took a 5-4 lead in the seventh on an RBI groundout by Jaksa, who drove in two runs on the night.
Smith was a catalyst for the Ducks, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Ryan Cooney also added two hits, including a double. Oregon's bullpen was effective in the middle innings, with Tanner Bradley tossing 3⅓ scoreless innings of one-hit ball, striking out five, to keep the game within reach.
Rodriguez finished 2-for-5 for the Longhorns. The victory sends Texas to its record 39th World Series appearance.
