PHILADELPHIA -- Todd Herremans has started more games than all but five offensive linemen in Philadelphia Eagles' history. He has started at every position on the line except center.
Herremans will not be checking "center" off his to-do list, but he is moving again. Herremans practiced at right tackle Tuesday, a strong indication he will be playing there when the Eagles meet the San Francisco 49ers Sunday.
Dennis Kelly, who started at left guard Sunday, lined up in Herremans' right guard spot Tuesday. Matt Tobin, who has been sidelined for four weeks with a high ankle sprain, was at left guard. David Molk will start at center in place of the injured Jason Kelce.
That leaves left tackle Jason Peters as the only lineman starting in the same position as he started Sunday.
"You've just got to roll with the punches," Peters said. "We've been working with each other since April. The guys that have not been starters, they've been in there at some point. So we're going to roll into San Fran and try to take care of business."
During the Eagles' four preseason games, one of the emerging stories was the way the second-team offensive line played. Anchored by Molk and right tackle Lane Johnson, the "twos" developed good chemistry and a strong rapport. Molk, Kelly and Tobin, who will man the three interior positions, were all part of that group.
"In the preseason, that second group had a lot of success," Kelly said. "They did really well, so hopefully we can kind of carry that over. Obviously there is that chemistry that we have together. You add Todd and Jason to the mix. They're two very good players. Hopefully things work out."
The other possibilities are Andrew Gardner, who started at right tackle Sunday and switched to left tackle after Peters was ejected, and Wade Smith. Smith, who was signed two weeks ago, played left guard and could fill in at center if necessary.
