Jets' final playing-time breakdown: DL/LB

With the 2014 season in the books, it's time for our annual playing time analysis of the New York Jets, covering 16 games:

Defensive snaps: 1,016

Defensive line

Sheldon Richardson -- 806 snaps/79 percent

Muhammad Wilkerson -- 719 snaps/71 percent

Damon Harrison -- 502 snaps/49 percent

Leger Douzable -- 319 snaps/31 percent

Kenrick Ellis -- 154 snaps/15 percent

T.J. Barnes -- 73 snaps/7 percent

Analysis: For the second straight year, the Jets got through the season with three primary linemen. Wilkerson missed three games with a turf-toe injury or else he would've been close to 90 percent. Unlike with some teams, former coach Rex Ryan wasn't a big believer in rotating his linemen to keep them fresh. ... Interesting note on Richardson: He dropped into pass coverage 47 times, according to Pro Football Focus. ... Harrison, usually a first- and second-down player, logged a lot of snaps over the second half of the season, as the Jets stayed in their base package more than usual. ... Ellis stayed healthy and still couldn't crack 200 snaps. ... For $1 million, Douzable was a tremendous value.

Linebacker

David Harris -- 1,010 snaps/99 percent

Demario Davis -- 1,005 snaps/99 percent

Calvin Pace -- 821 snaps/81 percent

Quinton Coples -- 689 snaps/68 percent

Jason Babin -- 459 snaps/45 percent

Trevor Reilly -- 60 snaps/6 percent

Antwan Barnes -- 55 snaps/5 percent

IK Enemkpali -- 40 snaps/4 percent

Nick Bellore -- 4 snaps/0.4 percent

Analysis: This was another position where the Jets were remarkably healthy. What Harris and Davis accomplished, each one missing only a handful of plays, was impressive. ... Pace's production dipped, perhaps because he was overworked. He's no spring chicken. ... Coples' best production came when he was moved to defensive end, his natural position, when Wilkerson was hurt. ... Babin proved to be a nice training camp pickup, a good value for $1.85 million. ... The rookies, Reilly and Enemkpali, got a little taste of it. They probably should've received more playing time, considering the team was out of the race early.
