          Best of the college football recruiting visits: Pac-12

          The two Bay Area Pac-12 programs produced big home wins this weekend, while UCLA wasn't as fortunate on the field but hosted a group of very important visitors. Here is a look at the weekend through the eyes of recruits on social media:

          The UCLA Bruins hope they are able to take a page out of last weekend's Pac-12 recruiting efforts, where programs made positive impressions on recruits despite home teams losing five out of six games. The Bruins suffered the toughest defeat this weekend, against Arizona State, but had some potential impact prospects on hand, including three that could make fairly immediate impacts at all three levels of the defense.

          It's always a huge thing to get a top-10 prospect on campus, and the Bruins were able to do so this weekend with No. 7 prospect Rashard Lawrence.

          If there's any kind of silver lining to UCLA missing injured defensive stars Eddie Vanderdoes and Myles Jack, it's that the Bruins coaches can show elite recruits how they're needed to fill holes or even step into starting roles. Lawrence would have an opportunity to fill in for Vanderdoes or Kenny Clark, should either or both leave early for the NFL draft. And to potentially replace Jack, Bruins coaches likely hope they took a big step forward with linebacker Dontavious Jackson, the nation's No. 159 prospect who visited with teammate Chris Brown.

          Up north, Cal hosted an impact visitor of its own, in ESPN 300 wide receiver Demetris Robertson. The nation's No. 10 wide receiver has been looking hard at Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and Stanford, but booked an official visit to see the Golden Bears this weekend. That would obviously be another huge recruiting win for head coach Sonny Dykes.

          Cal had several committed prospects on hand as well, including athlete Logan Gamble, who gave fans and other prospect a glimpse of the aftermath of a Golden Bears win.

          Stanford put itself back in the national discussion thanks to a 3-0 start in conference play and big wins against USC and Arizona. The Cardinal also had several important recruits on campus this weekend, including defensive tackle Jovan Swann.

          Swann was joined on campus by several other Stanford targets, including quarterback commit K.J. Costello and 2017 tight end prospect Colby Parkinson.
