Three-star safety Trent Sherfield (Danville, Ill./Danville) has committed to Vanderbilt.

Sherfield's decision, which has been confirmed by multiple reports, was originally announced on Twitter:

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect selected Vandy over scholarship offers from Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Northern Illinois and Purdue. Michigan State and Missouri showed interest.

Sherfield is commitment No. 10 in the 2014 class for the Commodores, who currently have the country's No. 29-ranked recruiting class.
