The New Orleans Pelicans have an open roster spot, and with the need to add depth in the backcourt, they are planning to work out a bunch of guards.

Rumor Central

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Pelicans will take a look at Mario Chalmers, Quinn Cook, Hollis Thompson and Reggie Williams.

Veteran point guard Jarrett Jack, 33, sent out a tweet on Monday claiming to be ready to play. His agent might call the Pelicans and other teams to get another audition. Jack has been sidelined for more than a year because of torn ligaments in his right knee.

If the Pelicans don't fill the open spot this week, general manager Dell Demps might wait until March 1. That's when various players on losing teams reach buyouts, so they can sign with teams heading to the 2017 NBA playoffs.
