The Orlando Magic have apparently found an option to fill out their roster in free-agent forward Damjan Rudez.

Rumor Central

Nikos Varlas of Eurohoops reports the Magic and Rudez have reached an agreement on a contract that will be announced in the next few days.

Rudez, 30, is a 6-foot-9 forward from Croatia who has flashed a high-level ability to shoot in his first two NBA seasons with the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves. His lack of athleticism limits his ability to guard NBA wings and he doesn't quite have the size to guard power forwards, but he's hit 39 percent of his 3-pointers over the two seasons, which shows his potential value as a floor spacer.

The Magic have three open roster spots after a busy offseason that landed forward Serge Ibaka in a trade and fellow frontcourt players Jeff Green and Bismack Biyombo via free agency. Rudez is a cheap option to fill one of those open roster spots. He joins a busy frontcourt mix that also includes Aaron Gordon, who can split time at both forward spots, and center Nikola Vucevic. Rudez is by far the best shooter in that group and might be able to stick on the roster in a limited role if he keeps hitting 3-pointers.
