The Orlando Magic, according to the Orlando Sentinel, are going to waive swingman Devyn Marble before 5 p.m. EST on Friday. If Marble is on the roster past that deadline, his salary worth $980,431 becomes fully guaranteed for the 2016-17 season.

Marble, the No. 56 pick in the 2014 NBA draft, has not played that much for the Magic over his first two seasons in the NBA. In 2015-16, Marble made 28 appearances and averaged 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds. There is a chance the Magic could bring back Marble via a non-guaranteed contract for training camp, which still gives them roster flexibility during the preseason.
Once Marble is released, the Magic will have 12 players under contract, and they will probably target players via free agency and trades who can play multiple positions. The Magic still have the $2.89 million "Room" Mid-Level Exception available and minimum deals to offer free agents.
