The Indiana Pacers acquired small forward Chase Budinger in July via trade with Minnesota and he may get his first games action on Tuesday. From Nate Taylor of The Indianapolis Star:
- "Free of pain, Chase Budinger sprinted up and down the court Sunday during the Indiana Pacers’ practice. Even though the regular season is still more than two weeks away, Budinger’s participation Sunday was an encouraging sign as the Pacers continue to tinker with their new offense. Budinger’s speed is expected to have an impact as the Pacers hope to score more fast-break points. He showed flashes of his long stride during a short scrimmage with his new teammates. At no point did Budinger’s right hamstring, a nagging injury that forced him to miss the previous three preseason games, bother him. Now, the next step for him is play in Tuesday’s exhibition against the Detroit Pistons (7 p.m.)."
Budinger will likely be used as a reserve this season to provide depth at small forward and shooting guard. 2015-16 is big for Budinger as his contract, paying $5 million, expires after the season.
