Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon had surgery to repair a fractured jaw earlier this week, the team announced on Friday.
Last year's No. 4 overall pick was hurt "while visiting with family and horsing around with older brother, Drew," according to the team. Drew Gordon, 25, has played professionally in Europe and spent the 2014 season moving between the rosters of the Philadelphia 76ers and their D-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers.
The team expects Aaron Gordon, 19, to be healthy before the Magic open the regular season in late October.
The 6-foot-9 forward played in just 47 games as a rookie after breaking a bone in his foot in November.
Gordon dominated during three games in the Orlando Summer League, averaging 21.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.7, assists 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per game while draining 6-of-12 attempts from 3-point range.
The Magic were excited enough about Gordon's progress since last season to sit the second-year player after three strong performances.
