Report: Thomas impressing with hustle, defense in Orlando

Adonis Thomas is hoping to receive an invitation to training camp and over the first two games of action during the Orlando Summer League, the forward has impressed the Detroit Pistons decision-makes with his all-out hustle and defense. From Terry Foster of The Detroit News:

"Thomas did not have a good shooting day during the Piston's 77-69 summer league victory Sunday over the Clippers. He was 2-for-9 from the field but that is fine with Thomas. He believes he showed coaches enough during the summer league and during practices to earn a roster spot during training camp. And once they get to see him in a competitive atmosphere against the main players then anything goes. Thomas showed he is more than a shooter. A day after scoring 17 points and making three of four 3-point attempts against the Magic White team, he was on the floor diving for loose balls. He tapped some balls loose and led a pair of fast breaks. ... Thomas, 22, played last season with the Grand Rapids Drive of the Developmental League. He played two collegiate seasons with Memphis but declared for the NBA and went undrafted. He has played in six NBA games with the Magic and 76ers. Now Thomas is trying to latch on with the Pistons."
