Report: Miller has chance in summer to impress

Quincy Miller is currently under contract with the Detroit Pistons through 2015-16. His deal is not guaranteed, so doing well during summer league play is very important as a way to earn a spot on the opening night regular season roster. From Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:

"Miller's moment is close. It is a few days from the beginning of summer league action for the Detroit Pistons forward, and he will seek to convince the organization he is worthy of a roster spot next season. Coach Stan Van Gundy and center Andre Drummond say the 6-foot-10 prospect has gained weight and has put himself in position to impress when games begin Saturday in Orlando. 'We like where we are with him, and he's had really, really good workouts,' Van Gundy said recently. 'We're anxious to get down there and see him play. We'll probably play him mainly at (power forward) down there. A large part of it is you just want to get these guys all on the floor as much as you can.'"

If Miller does make the opening night roster, his salary will be guaranteed up to $100,000.
