Report: Setback may force Alexander to need sugery

Cliff Alexander, the undrafted rookie forward out of Kansas, has been out since early October due to what the Portland Trail Blazers are listing as left knee soreness. According to a report on Wednesday, Alexander may need surgery to fix the issue. From Mike Richman of The Oregonian:

"(Alexander) may be out for longer than expected, according to a report from Jay Allen of Fox Sports Radio. Alexander was initially expected to miss 'a couple weeks' with a bone bruise, but may need surgery after a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test on Tuesday revealed he had suffered a setback, according to Allen. The Blazers have yet to make a definitive decision whether Alexander will undergo surgery, according to Allen."

The Blazers signed Alexander to a two-year, minimum contract that provides $100,000 worth of salary protection for 2015-16.
