ST. LOUIS -- Hello from the Edward Jones Dome, where we're fewer than 90 minutes away from raising the curtain on Mike Zimmer's head coaching career with the Minnesota Vikings. It's a beautiful day for football here, but alas, we'll spend it inside a stadium that St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke badly wants to replace. Still, I think we're in for an entertaining matchup between two teams that believe they're on the rise.
The Vikings had already ruled out three players with injuries on Friday -- fullback Zach Line and linebackers Michael Mauti and Brandon Watts -- and they'll, of course, sit third-string quarterback Christian Ponder. Their other inactives for Sunday's game are guard David Yankey, tight end MarQueis Gray and cornerback Shaun Prater.
That means swing tackle Mike Harris and cornerback Jabari Price, who were questionable and probable with shoulder injuries, respectively, will be active for the game. Defensive end Everson Griffen is also ready to start after missing two days of practice with an illness last week.
You can check back here for more throughout the day, and you can also follow me on Twitter at @GoesslingESPN. Enjoy the game.
