Jarius Wright active for Vikings vs. Broncos

DENVER -- As the Minnesota Vikings try to handle the NFL's top-ranked defense on Sunday, they'll only be without one of their top three receivers, instead of two.

Jarius Wright, who was questionable with a hand injury he sustained while making a catch, is active for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. Wright said Friday he was optimistic he'd play, adding he hadn't broken anything in his hand, and he was on the field with the rest of the Vikings' wide receivers for early warmups on Sunday. Adam Thielen will make his first NFL start with Charles Johnson out because of a rib injury, and Wright will maintain his normal role in the slot.

With Johnson out, rookie Stefon Diggs is active for the first time this season. Diggs, who led the Vikings in receptions and receiving yards in the preseason, got more practice time this week than he has all season. It remains to be seen how many opportunities he'll get on Sunday, but the Vikings are high on Diggs' potential after the catch, so it wouldn't be surprising to see them try to involve him at a few points.

Linebacker Audie Cole, who was questionable for Sunday's game with an ankle injury, is also active. Here is the full list of the Vikings' inactives:

WR Charles Johnson

DE Justin Trattou

CB Jabari Price

S Andrew Sendejo

QB Taylor Heinicke

TE Chase Ford

LB Edmond Robinson
