ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Raiders quarterback Derek Carr returned to practice Wednesday, still feeling the effects from a one-day illness but almost certain to make his final start of the season.
Carr arrived earlier than expected at the team's headquarters and practiced without limitations one day after being sent home by interim Oakland coach Tony Sparano. He later joked with reporters about not wanting to get too close to them for fear of spreading his illness.
"A lot better today," Carr said when asked how he was doing. "I got here early to work out and see how I'd feel during that. After that I felt pretty good. Felt good at practice. Not 100 percent but it felt good to practice and be out here."
Carr has started all 15 games for the 3-12 Raiders this season and leads all rookie quarterbacks in nearly every statistical category.
Outside linebacker Khalil Mack was wearing a thick wrap around his leg after being limited in practice due to a hamstring injury he suffered late in Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills. Mack initially thought he was suffering from cramping in his leg but when the pain lingered, team trainers re-examined the first-round draft pick and determined he has a strained hamstring.
The rest of the Raiders' injury report from Tuesday is below.
Did not practice: CB TJ Carrie (ankle), WR Vincent Brown (groin), CB Chimdi Chekwa (hamstring), TE Brian Leonhardt (concussion), WR Denarius Moore (knee/ankle), RT Menelik Watson (foot).
Limited: S Ras-I Dowling (hamstring).
