Raiders hope to end road skid in Kansas City

After starting the season 0-9, the Oakland Raiders have suddenly won two of their last three games.

They are starting to feel good about themselves. However, they have to prove they can win on the road. Oakland‘s two wins have come at home. They are 0-6 on the road (0-7 counting their “home” game in London). The Raiders are one of three winless teams on the road this season.

Oakland coach Tony Sparano knows the team, which lost 52-0 in St. Louis in its last road game, has to find a way to be get an elusive road win.

“All of us need to do better in those environments right now,” Sparano said.

In other Raiders’ notes:

  • Oakland rookie quarterback Derek Carr said he and his wife are praying for the Kansas City safety Eric Berry. He is battling a form of cancer.

  • The Raiders’ remaining schedule is tied for the third toughest in the NFL. Their three remaining opponent have a combined winning percentage of .615

  • The Raiders signed receiver Kenny Shaw and tight end Evan Wilson to the practice squad.

  • The Raiders still have an open spot on the 53-man roster. They have just four linebackers on the roster, but two on the practice squad. Bojay Filimoeatu or Spencer Hadley could be promoted. Hadley has been working at fullback in recent weeks, though.
