With a lull between free agency and the NFL draft, let's take a look at what questions Houston Texans fans posed on Twitter. For future mailbags, find me on Twitter @TaniaGanguli.

Are Texans down on Jaelen Strong? Is WR a legitimate possibly in 1st round? #TexansMail
Ganguli: Not at all. The Texans have a lot of faith in Jaelen Strong’s ability to be a really productive player for them and they like how his season ended. If Strong can maintain the focus he had last season and keep developing they have high expectations for his future. Even given that, receiver is a possibility for the Texans early. It's another area on the field where they'd like to add more speed.
@taniaganguli #texansmail How big of a need is o-linemen

Ganguli: The Texans are always on the lookout for tackles and this is a good year to find one with a particularly deep class coming out of college. Duane Brown is recovering from a significant quad injury (and he's been posting video of his recovery on Instagram), but with the long-time Texans left tackle set to be 31 next season, the Texans have to look to the future at the position. That's not to say he's on the way out right now, but when you have the opportunity to shore up that position ahead of time, as the Texans will this season, it's a good idea to do so. Elsewhere on the offensive line, the Texans need to figure out what's happening with their interior. They lost center Ben Jones to the Tennessee Titans and right now are set to have a competition at the position.
@taniaganguli so if Hoyer is traded/cut, do they sign Weeden? Can't imagine going Os, Savage and draftee. Little experience there...
— Casey Johnson (@PCaseyJohnson) April 1, 2016
Ganguli: The terminology is really the most difficult thing for new quarterbacks to figure out if they've had experience elsewhere. Tom Savage has been preparing in this offense for two seasons now, and while the Texans clearly didn't feel comfortable enough to give him the reins as their starter, we shouldn't discount what he's learned in that time. Texans haven't shied away from turnover in their quarterback room, so I don't see them worrying much about ushering in newcomers.
@taniaganguli Would they move back into the 3rd to draft Hackenberg. #texansmail

Ganguli: I don't see the Texans making any moves to take a quarterback. They just aren't in a position where they have to do that anymore. Moving back could garner some picks, but I think that will depend on what's available when they are selecting. If they don't see much value where they are they could try, but they'd need another team to think there is value there in order to find someone who wants to move up.
Derek Newton split time at tackle and guard last season. Was he a better guard or tackle? #TexansMail
— nordtman (@nordtman) March 31, 2016
Ganguli: Derek Newton is a better tackle. That's what the Texans signed him to play and his stints at guard were based on the strengths of the other players on the roster. When they needed a reserve guard, there were times when they felt that they were stronger with Newton inside and Chris Clark at tackle than they would have been with a backup guard inside. That speaks to an issue on the interior offensive line.
@taniaganguli What is the situation with John Simon? Will he be back next year? #Texans #TexansMail
— Kenneth Levy (@klevy44) March 30, 2016
Ganguli: The Texans have made a qualifying offer to John Simon, which means if another team tries to sign him they can match the offer and retain the outside linebacker. Simon was the third member of the Texans' outside linebacker rotation, behind Whitney Mercilus and Jadeveon Clowney, and he's an important part of the Texans' defensive depth. He had five sacks, a fumble recovery and 49 tackles.
@taniaganguli Tight End feels a weakness still for Texans. Any chance of help in draft or a veteran free agent? #texansmail
— The Spurs Report (@spurs_report) March 30, 2016
Ganguli: The Texans absolutely agree with this and will be looking to upgrade the tight end position. They need a playmaker there and haven't had one since Owen Daniels was on the roster three years ago. The draft could offer some options here. Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry is widely considered the top tight end in the draft, but players like Ohio State’s Nick Vannett, South Carolina’s Jerell Adams and Stanford’s Austin Hooper could also help.
