The Houston Rockets, fresh off finalizing a blockbuster trade to acquire troubled point guard Ty Lawson from Denver, are close to a pair of one-year deals with veterans Jason Terry (guard) and Chuck Hayes (forward), according to multiple sources.

Terry played with the Rockets last season, becoming the starting point guard in the postseason when Patrick Beverley suffered a season-ending wrist injury.

Terry has expressed an interest in returning to Houston. The Dallas Mavericks held talks with Terry after they received a commitment from DeAndre Jordan, but when he elected to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, those discussions halted.

Last season, Terry averaged seven points and 1.9 assists per game for Houston.

Hayes played in 29 games for Toronto last season, averaging 1.7 points over 8.8 minutes per game. Hayes is familiar with the Rockets, having spent his first six NBA seasons with the franchise. Hayes, a 10-year veteran, has played in 642 games for three different teams in his career.
