Sherrod, who allowed two sacks in a Week 1 relief appearance of the injured Bryan Bulaga (knee), gave up the first sack against the Jets but then appeared to settle down at right tackle in his first career start. … Adams (five catches, 50 yards) replaced Boykin as the No. 3 receiver late in the second quarter. ... After averaging 5.3 yards carry on seven rushes in the opener, Starks did not get a single carry. When Lacy needed a break, Cobb was used in the backfield and gained 6 yards on two carries. … Nelson's career day (nine catches, 209 yards) could have been even better if not for a pair of drops. … Despite returning from a preseason leg injury, tight end Brandon Bostick played only on special teams. Quarless and Richard Rodgers were often used as extra blockers and combined for only one catch for 8 eights (by Quarless).

Noteworthy: Defensive coordinator Dom Capers stuck with his new-look 4-3 again with mixed results. Daniels had one of his best games with a sack, a quarterback hit and two hurries, according to ProFootballFocus.com. His hit forced Geno Smith to throw one up for grabs that Williams picked off late in the second quarter to turn things around. Nose tackle Mike Pennel, active for the first time seemingly to help the run defense, did not play a snap. … Matthews played almost the entire game and then was curiously pulled late in the Jets' final drive when they went for it on fourth down only to return after the Jets called timeout. Peppers rebounded from an uneventful Packers' debut with one hit and three quarterback hurries, according to PFF. He batted down one ball, and his long reach appeared to impact Smith on several throws. … The missed tackles were cut from a league-high 18 last week to just three this week, per PFF. … Clinton-Dix played the entire second half after Hyde left with a knee injury. House got the call in the dime package a week after he did not play a snap in the opener and had one pass breakup. Casey Hayward, the nickel back in Week 1, was the odd cornerback out this week.

Top special teams contributors (30 total plays): Bush 23, Clinton-Dix 22, Andy Mulumba 21, Sean Richardson 21, Sam Barrington 16, House 15, Ryan Taylor 14.
