One of the more promising 2013 Oklahoma high school prospects is linebacker Devin Rolan (McAlester, Okla./McAlester).
And as more film keeps being sent out, there are fewer questions surrounding the junior. Rolan, 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, is already one of the most physical linebackers in the state and saw his first OU game since junior high Saturday.
Rolan has been a frequent visitor to the campus in the last year because of camps, and it’s a familiarity he would like to get more comfortable with.
“I actually felt like I knew where I was this time. I knew my way around the campus,” Rolan said. “It was real exciting to be down on the field. The fans were real loud. You want to be a part of that.”
Rolan said he talked to OU defensive coordinator Brent Venables for most of the time and also spoke briefly with linebacker Tom Wort.
Venables asked Rolan about his season, which couldn’t be going better for Rolan through four games. Rolan has 42 tackles and is also showing the ability to drop back in coverage.
Rolan is also being recruited by Duke and Notre Dame, among others.
