CHICAGO -- Now that the World Series is complete, four players from the Chicago White Sox's 2015 roster hit free agency this week: right-handers Jeff Samardzija and Matt Albers, infielder Gordon Beckham and catcher Geovany Soto.

It would not be out of the question that none of the four return to the White Sox. Samardzija’s disappointing final two months will likely have the White Sox looking elsewhere for a right-handed No. 2 starter to slide behind ace Chris Sale in the rotation.

Albers had an impressive season, despite missing three months because of a broken pinkie finger on his right hand. The right-hander, though, figures to be priced out of the White Sox’s range as he seeks an opportunity as a late-inning reliever.

The White Sox are expected to move on from Beckham after bringing back the former first-round draft pick as a utility infielder. Soto is also expected to move on after solid season, opening the door for left-handed hitting Rob Brantly to become the backup catcher.
