Teravainen, Nordstrom sit with injuries

CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forwards Joakim Nordstrom and Teuvo Teravainen are day-to-day with upper-body injuries and will not skate on Tuesday, according to coach Joel Quenneville.

Teravainen, who is considered the Blackhawks’ top prospect, also sat out the team’s scrimmage on Monday. He took a big hit from defenseman Cam Barker during a scrimmage at Notre Dame on Sunday. Teravainen is likely competing for an NHL roster spot during the preseason.

Nordstrom, 22, could also be in the mix for a roster spot. He made the team out of training camp last season and played in 16 regular season games as a rookie.

Quenneville said Nordstrom and Teravainen could begin skating again as early as Wednesday.
