LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Quarterback Brian Hoyer once again took all the starters' reps on Wednesday as the Chicago Bears continued to rest Jay Cutler's injured right thumb.
Cutler was one of sixteen players on Chicago's injury report in advance of Sunday's game at Indianapolis.
"That's a long list. About the same as last week," coach John Fox joked. "I think back in '04 [with Carolina] we had about 18 guys on injured reserves. So I think that kind of broke the record and I am not sure you can even get close to that one but we're still early."
Also sidelined on Wednesday were: running back Jeremy Langford (ankle), tight end Zach Miller (ribs), wide receiver Eddie Royal (calf), nose tackle Eddie Goldman (ankle) and outside linebacker Leonard Floyd (calf).
In more encouraging news, inside linebacker Danny Trevathan (thumb) and running back Ka'Deem Carey (hamstring) were back at practice in limited fashion. Trevathan, who underwent surgery to re-attach a thumb ligament, and Carey were each inactive versus the Cowboys and Lions.
Veteran cornerback Tracy Porter was also limited with a knee injury that forced him to miss 23 plays in Week 4.
And after the Bears placed receiver Kevin White (severe high ankle sprain/fractured fibula), they elevated fullback Paul Lasike to the active roster and signed tight end Busta Anderson to the practice squad.
