Bears sixth-round pick Tayo Fabuluje suspended four games

Chicago Bears offensive tackle Tayo Fabuluje has been suspended without pay for the team's next four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

“I was recently informed that I tested positive for an amphetamine after taking a supplement that did not list any banned substances on the label," Fabuluje said in a statement. "As a result, I will be serving a four game suspension. Although it was not intentional, and I would never knowingly take a banned substance, I recognize that I am ultimately responsible as an NFL player for everything that goes in my body. I sincerely apologize to my teammates, the Chicago Bears organization and our fans and can’t wait to come back and contribute to my team.”

The 2015 sixth-round draft choice will be eligible to return to the Bears' active roster on Dec. 7 following the club's game versus San Francisco on Dec. 6.

Fabuluje has appeared in four games this year in a reserve role. He was inactive for Chicago's 22-19 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football.

Meanwhile, Bears practice squad wide receiver Jalen Saunders has also been suspended four games for violating the league's performance-enhancing substance policy. Saunders is currently on injured reserve.

The Bears made a pair of additional roster moves Tuesday, elevating receiver Deonte Thompson from the practice squad to the active roster and signing tackle Martin Wallace to the practice squad.
