Luke Knott set to return for Iowa State

Paul Rhoads program has gotten some good news with the expected return of linebacker Luke Knott to the Cyclones.

The younger brother of former ISU standout Jake Knott, Luke's status had been up in the air as he was dealing with a hip injury. But Luke Knott is expected to return to regular workouts with ISU on May 18, reports Randy Peterson of the Des Moines Register.

"When we start back up, I think he'll be right in the mix and doing everything that everyone else is," Rhoads said told Peterson.

The linebacker position is wide open for the Cyclones wtih plenty of uncertainty at the position, particularly with Knott's status uncertain. If the Cyclones' third-leading tackler can return to good health and match his 2014 production (74 tackles), that's one less concern for Rhoads as he tries to return ISU into a bowl game for the first time since 2012.
