On Tuesday, we kicked off our Big 12 Imaginary Draft with TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin going No. 1 overall.

The returning Big 12 offensive player of the year was followed up by several stars in the trenches -- including Baylor's Shawn Oakman and Texas Tech's Le'Raven Clark -- as Jake Trotter, Max Olson and myself aimed to build the best team comprised of current Big 12 players. The first seven rounds was a subtle reminder that several of the Big 12's top offensive and defensive linemen are returning in 2015.

To be clear, this is not a ranking of the Big 12's top players. Instead, we're picking the best possible teams from the pool of current Big 12 players heading into the 2015 season. We continue our Big 12 Imaginary Draft with rounds 8-14.

Round 8

Trotter: DT Travis Britz, Kansas State

Chatmon: CB Kevin Peterson, Oklahoma State

Olson: CB Danzel McDaniel, Kansas State

Analysis: Britz rounds out a superior defensive line that can plug the run and get after the passer. Sterns and Joseph were the top two tackling DBs in the Big 12 last season. I feel sorry for the receivers that will have to cross the middle of the field with those two lurking. -- Trotter

Round 9

Olson: WR Josh Doctson, TCU

Chatmon: DE Charles Tapper, Oklahoma

Trotter: C Joey Hunt, TCU

Analysis: Boykin, Samaje Perine, KD Cannon and now Doctson. I mean, really, who's going to stop that group? The tackles, Drango and Whitehair, are two of the Big 12's most experienced linemen and leaders. I'm confident I can still piece together a really good defense with my next few picks. -- Olson

Round 10

Trotter: OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai, TCU

Chatmon: LB Dominique Alexander, Oklahoma

Olson: LB Taylor Young, Baylor

Analysis: I'm surprised the Big 12's top returning tackler was still on the board. Alexander is a productive playmaker who will clean up anything Andrew Billings or Hassan Ridgeway don't handle in the backfield. That triangle in the middle of my defense is second to none. -- Chatmon

Round 11

Olson: S Derrick Kindred, TCU

Chatmon: HB Aaron Green, TCU

Trotter: HB DeAndre Washington, Texas Tech

Analysis: I waited on running back, and still got a fine player in Washington, who is coming off a 1,000-yard season. Washington can also catch the ball out of the backfield, and will give QB Mason Rudolph another dynamic weapon to operate with. -- Trotter

Round 12

Trotter: LB Nick Kwiatkoski, West Virginia

Chatmon: S Jason Hall, Texas

Olson: CB Ranthony Texada, TCU

Analysis: The collection of corners I've assembled -- Zack Sanchez, Danzel McDaniel and now Texada -- gives me all kinds of matchup options in the secondary. I'm a big fan of McDaniel's talents in run support, and I think Texada is in for a breakout season. -- Olson

Round 13

Olson: WR Jakeem Grant, Texas Tech

Chatmon: WR James Washington, Oklahoma State

Trotter: LB Seth Jacobs, Oklahoma State

Analysis: Washington could be poised for a breakout year with a stable quarterback situation. 'Rudolph2Washington' could become the new 'Weeden2Blackmon' this fall if the sophomore makes a jump during his second season in a Pokes uniform. -- Chatmon

Round 14

Trotter: CB Morgan Burns, Kansas State

Chatmon: C Kyle Fuller, Baylor

Olson: OL Boston Stiverson, Kansas State

Analysis: I probably waited a little long to address cornerback. Still, Burns is one of the most underrated defenders in the league, who boasts elite cover speed. He might not get the accolades of some of the other corners, but he can really play. -- Trotter
