Tyrann Mathieu tweets about Will Smith's death, New Orleans politics

TEMPE, Ariz. -- New Orleans native and Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu let his feelings be known Sunday about former Saints star Will Smith's death.

Mathieu said he knows Cardell Hayes, the man allegedly responsible for Smith's death late Saturday night after a traffic accident.

The Honey Badger took to Twitter for a series of rants, including one that called Hayes a "coward" for allegedly shooting Smith in the back. Smith was declared dead at the scene and his wife was taken to a New Orleans hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mathieu also shared opinions on his hometown of New Orleans with a series of tweets addressing school funding and how parks are maintained.

Another part of Mathieu's rant included how music "brainwashes" people to believe "drugs and killing are the cool thing to do."

Mathieu went on to say how he is answering by dropping his own album, and he talked about the importance of being a father and providing for his child.
